Indian National Geo-spatial Award has been instituted to recognize significant contribution in the field of geo-spatial science, technology and applications such as:
• Geo-spatial science and technology
• Geo-database design, standards, infrastructure
• National, global and extra-terrestrial geo-databases
• Development information systems and applications
The award shall consist of Rs. 50,000 in cash, a medal and citation.
Eligibility
Any citizen of India, , up to the age of 45 years as on December 31st of the year of the award, engaged in activities related to geo-spatial science, technology and its applications is eligible for this award. The prize is awarded on the basis of work primarily done in India. The Prize is awarded on the basis of contributions made through work done primarily in India during the five years preceding the year of the Prize.
Evaluation
All nominations received will be evaluated by a duly constituted Award Committee. The Award Committee will consist of
• Immediate Past-President of ISRS
• An eminent expert in remote sensing technology and application, to be identified by the Executive Council of ISRS
• A vice-President of ISRS
Presentation of the Award
The award shall be presented during the Annual Convention of ISRS. AC 2 Tier fare may be reimbursed if awardee requests for it.
How to make Nomination
The nominations can be proposed by Heads of the institutes/Research Centres /Universities; or two life members of the society with more than 10 year old membership. All these members should have personal knowledge of the work of the person so nominated. A candidate once nominated would be considered for a total period of three years, if age-wise eligible.
Nomination should be sent in the prescribed format given at the end. This should be completed in all respects. Two copies of Nomination Form should be sent to the
